Abstract

Collaboration is deemed crucial to producing timely results, which is vital for high-quality patient care delivery (Cho et al., 2020). Laboratories worldwide have introduced lockdowns or imposed other restrictions to maintain social distances. These measures have disrupted routine procedural workflows in the laboratory. Radiology departments are expected to exhibit augmented collaboration with laboratories to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain the standard of care. Though interdepartmental collaboration has gained attention before the pandemic, little progress has been made in studying topics.

A retrospective study was conducted to assess variables representing collaboration between radiology technologists and laboratory teams before and during the pandemic. The study aimed to examine changes in collaboration concerning three variables: communication frequency, turnaround time, and error rate.
